Leviticus 27:14 - Numbers 1:54
14ย โโIf anyone dedicates their house as something holy to the Lord, the priest will judge its quality as good or bad. Whatever value the priest then sets, so it will remain. 15ย If the one who dedicates their house wishes to redeem it, they must add a fifth to its value, and the house will again become theirs.
16ย โโIf anyone dedicates to the Lord part of their family land, its value is to be set according to the amount of seed required for itโfifty shekels of silver to a homer[a] of barley seed. 17ย If they dedicate a field during the Year of Jubilee, the value that has been set remains. 18ย But if they dedicate a field after the Jubilee, the priest will determine the value according to the number of years that remain until the next Year of Jubilee, and its set value will be reduced. 19ย If the one who dedicates the field wishes to redeem it, they must add a fifth to its value, and the field will again become theirs. 20ย If, however, they do not redeem the field, or if they have sold it to someone else, it can never be redeemed. 21ย When the field is released in the Jubilee, it will become holy, like a field devoted to the Lord; it will become priestly property.
22ย โโIf anyone dedicates to the Lord a field they have bought, which is not part of their family land, 23ย the priest will determine its value up to the Year of Jubilee, and the owner must pay its value on that day as something holy to the Lord. 24ย In the Year of Jubilee the field will revert to the person from whom it was bought, the one whose land it was. 25ย Every value is to be set according to the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel.
26ย โโNo one, however, may dedicate the firstborn of an animal, since the firstborn already belongs to the Lord; whether an ox[b] or a sheep, it is the Lordโs. 27ย If it is one of the unclean animals, it may be bought back at its set value, adding a fifth of the value to it. If it is not redeemed, it is to be sold at its set value.
28ย โโBut nothing that a person owns and devotes[c] to the Lordโwhether a human being or an animal or family landโmay be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the Lord.
29ย โโNo person devoted to destruction[d] may be ransomed; they are to be put to death.
30ย โโA tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. 31ย Whoever would redeem any of their tithe must add a fifth of the value to it. 32ย Every tithe of the herd and flockโevery tenth animal that passes under the shepherdโs rodโwill be holy to the Lord. 33ย No one may pick out the good from the bad or make any substitution. If anyone does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute become holy and cannot be redeemed.โโ
34ย These are the commands the Lord gave Moses at Mount Sinai for the Israelites.
Numbers 1:1-54
The Census
1ย The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: 2ย โTake a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. 3ย You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army. 4ย One man from each tribe, each of them the head of his family, is to help you. 5ย These are the names of the men who are to assist you:
from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
6ย from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
7ย from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
8ย from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
9ย from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
10ย from the sons of Joseph:
from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud;
from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11ย from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
12ย from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
13ย from Asher, Pagiel son of Okran;
14ย from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
15ย from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.โ
16ย These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders of their ancestral tribes. They were the heads of the clans of Israel.
17ย Moses and Aaron took these men whose names had been specified, 18ย and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month. The people registered their ancestry by their clans and families, and the men twenty years old or more were listed by name, one by one, 19ย as the Lord commanded Moses. And so he counted them in the Desert of Sinai:
20ย From the descendants of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, one by one, according to the records of their clans and families. 21ย The number from the tribe of Reuben was 46,500.
22ย From the descendants of Simeon:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were counted and listed by name, one by one, according to the records of their clans and families. 23ย The number from the tribe of Simeon was 59,300.
24ย From the descendants of Gad:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 25ย The number from the tribe of Gad was 45,650.
26ย From the descendants of Judah:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 27ย The number from the tribe of Judah was 74,600.
28ย From the descendants of Issachar:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 29ย The number from the tribe of Issachar was 54,400.
30ย From the descendants of Zebulun:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 31ย The number from the tribe of Zebulun was 57,400.
32ย From the sons of Joseph:
From the descendants of Ephraim:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 33ย The number from the tribe of Ephraim was 40,500.
34ย From the descendants of Manasseh:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 35ย The number from the tribe of Manasseh was 32,200.
36ย From the descendants of Benjamin:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 37ย The number from the tribe of Benjamin was 35,400.
38ย From the descendants of Dan:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 39ย The number from the tribe of Dan was 62,700.
40ย From the descendants of Asher:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 41ย The number from the tribe of Asher was 41,500.
42ย From the descendants of Naphtali:
All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families. 43ย The number from the tribe of Naphtali was 53,400.
44ย These were the men counted by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family. 45ย All the Israelites twenty years old or more who were able to serve in Israelโs army were counted according to their families. 46ย The total number was 603,550.
47ย The ancestral tribe of the Levites, however, was not counted along with the others. 48ย The Lord had said to Moses: 49ย โYou must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the census of the other Israelites. 50ย Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the covenant lawโover all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it. 51ย Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who approaches it is to be put to death. 52ย The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each of them in their own camp under their standard. 53ย The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law.โ
54ย The Israelites did all this just as the Lord commanded Moses..
Mark 11:1-26
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King
11ย As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2ย saying to them, โGo to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3ย If anyone asks you, โWhy are you doing this?โ say, โThe Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.โโ
4ย They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5ย some people standing there asked, โWhat are you doing, untying that colt?โ 6ย They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7ย When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8ย Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9ย Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
โHosanna![a]โ
โBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!โ[b]
10ย โBlessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!โ
โHosanna in the highest heaven!โ
11ย Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
Jesus Curses a Fig Tree and Clears the Temple Courts
12ย The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13ย Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. 14ย Then he said to the tree, โMay no one ever eat fruit from you again.โ And his disciples heard him say it.
15ย On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16ย and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17ย And as he taught them, he said, โIs it not written: โMy house will be called a house of prayer for all nationsโ[c]? But you have made it โa den of robbers.โ[d]โ
18ย The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.
19ย When evening came, Jesus and his disciples[e] went out of the city.
20ย In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21ย Peter remembered and said to Jesus, โRabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!โ
22ย โHave faith in God,โ Jesus answered. 23ย โTruly[f] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, โGo, throw yourself into the sea,โ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24ย Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25ย And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.โ [26]ย [g]
Psalm 46
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.[b] A song.
1ย God is our refuge and strength,
ย ย ย ย an ever-present help in trouble.
2ย Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
ย ย ย ย and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3ย though its waters roar and foam
ย ย ย ย and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]
4ย There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
ย ย ย ย the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5ย God is within her, she will not fall;
ย ย ย ย God will help her at break of day.
6ย Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
ย ย ย ย he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7ย The Lord Almighty is with us;
ย ย ย ย the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8ย Come and see what the Lord has done,
ย ย ย ย the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9ย He makes wars cease
ย ย ย ย to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
ย ย ย ย he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10ย He says, โBe still, and know that I am God;
ย ย ย ย I will be exalted among the nations,
ย ย ย ย I will be exalted in the earth.โ
11ย The Lord Almighty is with us;
ย ย ย ย the God of Jacob is our fortress.

ย ย ย ย but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.
