Three Voices Rise After Kirk’s Assassination—Challenging the Church to Fear God and Seek Revival
Three compelling voices speak into this pivotal moment: investigative journalist and bestselling author Troy Anderson, who has described Kirk as a modern-day “Designated Disrupter”; teacher John Bevere, who calls the Church to fear God and reject offense; and prophetic leader Jonathan Cahn, who urges believers to contend for revival in the wake of Kirk’s assassination.
A Nation Searching for Meaning
The September 10 shooting of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk while speaking at Utah Valley University stunned the nation and ignited a wave of prayer meetings, vigils, and renewed debate over faith and politics. A stadium-size memorial service in Arizona on September 21 drew President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and tens of thousands of mourners, while pastors across the country reported new seekers in their churches and young people opening Bibles for the first time.
In the weeks since, three influential voices have spoken into the tragedy. Troy Anderson, investigative journalist and author of Designated Disrupter: Trump and Other Unlikely Agents of Revival (Charisma House/FrontLine, January 6,2026), has described Kirk as a modern-day “Designated Disrupter”—a bold, faith-driven leader raised up to challenge the culture and call a generation back to God. John Bevere, pastor and teacher, has urged the Church to confront fear of man, misunderstanding, and offense, warning that these heart issues can blind people to truth. Meanwhile, Jonathan Cahn, best-selling author and prophetic leader, has framed the assassination as part of a larger spiritual battle and called believers to intensified prayer, repentance, and revival.
Together, these voices offer complementary perspectives—journalistic, pastoral, and prophetic—on how the Church should respond in this historic moment.

Designated Disrupter: Trump and Other Unlikely Agents of Revival
(Charisma House/FrontLine, Jan. 6, 2026) by Pulitzer Prize–nominated journalist and six-time #1 bestselling author Troy Anderson. In this prophetic new book, Anderson spotlights President Trump as the central “disrupter” God is using to confront cultural darkness and prepare the way for revival. Yet Trump has not stood alone—by his side have been unlikely agents of change, including Charlie Kirk, a bold leader of the next generation, and many others. Charlie’s courage, faith, and unflinching stand for truth embody the spirit of disruption that is sparking a Great Awakening across America, especially among young people. Together, these voices are shaping a movement that could change America’s destiny.
Charlie Kirk: A Designated Disrupter
To many supporters, Charlie Kirk embodied what author Troy Anderson calls a “Designated Disrupter”—an unlikely voice raised up to confront cultural drift and call a generation back to God.
In his early twenties, Kirk launched Turning Point USA, which grew into a national movement promoting biblical values, constitutional freedom, and civic engagement on college campuses.
In recent years, Kirk’s rallies often mixed patriotic messaging with open calls to faith in Christ, and he became known as a steadfast defender of both the gospel and Israel. Supporters say that combination—speaking about faith as well as policy—made him a prime target in a polarized age.
Kirk’s sudden death in Orem, Utah, at age 31 has been described by many Christian leaders as a watershed moment—a shock that has stirred prayer, awakened new interest in the Bible, and ignited a fresh conversation about the cost of public witness in an era of cultural conflict.

Bevere’s shepherd’s charge: fear God, not man
On his podcast episode “We Need to Talk About This” (Sept. 26), Bevere—joined by sons Addison and Arden—told pastors that Kirk’s death exposed three fault lines inside the Church: misunderstanding, fear of man, and offense.
He warned that leaders who soften the message to avoid criticism or who allow political offense to fester in their congregations risk leaving people unhealed and vulnerable to deception.
“I side with God in a dark world—and if persecution comes, so be it.” —John Bevere
Bevere called pastors to “heal the hurts” with Scripture, citing Matthew 24, Luke 12, and Galatians 2, and urged ordinary believers to live humbly before God yet boldly before the world.
Addison Bevere added that Christian leaders must be “humble before God and bold before men,” while Arden Bevere warned, “Pain that isn’t transformed will eventually be transferred.”
Cahn’s prophetic frame: a battle for the future
In a video titled “The Charlie Kirk Redemption: The Meaning, The Future, & The Answer” (Sept. 23), Jonathan Cahn presented the shooting as part of an ongoing spiritual conflict described in Revelation 12—the “dragon making war on the saints.”
He linked the location—Orem, Utah, whose name he noted derives from a word for “serpent” or “dragon”—to the imagery in the biblical text.
Cahn emphasized that these interpretations are meant to alert believers to spiritual realities and to galvanize a national turning back to God, not to incite anger against people.
“Let the name Turning Point be prophetic of this moment—let revival come.” —Jonathan Cahn
He urged Christians to respond not with rage or despair but with repentance, prayer, evangelism, and perseverance—especially reaching students on campuses, which he called the primary battleground for the nation’s future.
Cahn acknowledged the theological mystery of why, in his view, God spared President Trump in a recent assassination attempt but allowed Kirk to die, and framed Kirk’s death as martyr-like: “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.”
A common call: humility before God, boldness before men
Though speaking from different angles—one pastoral and one prophetic—both leaders converged on a central exhortation: do not let fear or offense silence the Church.
Bevere stressed the need for leaders to confront difficult truths in love; Cahn challenged believers not to retreat in the face of spiritual opposition but to “press on until revival breaks.”
Both pointed to the next generation—college and high-school students—as a decisive front in what they see as the struggle for America’s future.
As we honor Charlie Kirk’s fearless stand for truth, we’re reminded of the urgency of our times. The #1 bestseller Revelation 911 by Pastor Paul Begley and Troy Anderson uncovers the prophetic battle now unfolding and the great revival rising in our generation.
For pastors in the days ahead
In the days ahead, pastors can still respond meaningfully to the shock and grief stirred by Charlie Kirk’s death. At the next gathering—whether a mid-week service, prayer meeting, or Sunday worship—take a moment to acknowledge the loss, express compassion for the Kirk family, and pray publicly for comfort, peace, and protection in communities unsettled by political violence.
Use this season to open the Scriptures and teach about the heart-issues Jesus warned of: offense, fear, and division. Passages such as Matthew 24, Luke 12, and Galatians 2 show how offense blinds people to truth and fear of man breeds compromise. Bringing these truths to light can help congregations process the moment biblically rather than react in anger or despair.
Finally, lead by example. Model forgiveness and courage by calling your people to repent where needed, to forgive even in the midst of disagreement, and to trust God’s sovereignty. Such leadership helps communities stay rooted in grace and faith rather than being driven by outrage or fear.
A timely message of hope — I’ve Been to Heaven
As pastors help their congregations process grief and grapple with questions about life, death, and eternity, many have found that testimonies of near-death experiences offer fresh encouragement. The new book I’ve Been to Heaven (Chosen Books/Baker Publishing Group, October 14, 2025) by Steve and Dr. Kathy Boyls and Troy Anderson brings together Steve’s remarkable near-death encounter and the hope he received through it.
The book, the #1 “Top New Release “ in “Near-Death Experiences” on Amazon, is resonating widely in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s passing and other recent losses. A Scientific American report notes that 5–10 percent of people have had near-death experiences, and leaders such as Dr. Billye Brim believe God is allowing many to glimpse Heaven and return with a testimony to point others to Christ.
In the book, Steve, a friend of Revelation Watchers Co-Founder Pastor Paul Begley, recounts his moment of standing at Heaven’s threshold and the call he received to tell others that Jesus is real and returning soon. For many readers, these stories do not replace Scripture but underline its promise of eternal life and provide comfort amid grief and uncertainty.
At a time when the nation is wrestling with violence, division, and mortality, I’ve Been to Heaven reminds believers that death is not the end and that hope in Christ anchors the soul. Pastors and small-group leaders may find it a meaningful resource for guiding conversations about faith, eternity, and salvation in the weeks following Kirk’s memorial.
For Every Believer
Every follower of Christ can respond to this moment with intentional action. Begin by setting aside time to fast and pray specifically for college and high-school campuses, asking God to protect students, open their hearts to the gospel, and raise up courageous leaders among them.
Take a practical step by sharing the good news personally with at least one young person this week—whether it’s a conversation with a student in your church, a family member, or a neighbor.
Finally, choose to show compassionate truth, the kind that comforts but also confronts what is broken. As John Bevere warns, we must avoid what he calls “toxic empathy,” which soothes feelings yet leaves the deeper wounds unhealed. Real love tells the truth in grace and points people toward lasting freedom in Christ.
Unified Pastoral Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You humbled by the brokenness of our world and the pain of these days. We ask for Your mercy over our nation. Pour out Your Spirit upon our leaders, pastors, parents, and especially the young people in every city and town. Bring healing to those wounded by violence, courage to those who proclaim Your Word, and unity to the Body of Christ.
Lord Jesus, we renounce the fear of man and the spirit of offense. Search us, cleanse us, and fill us with holy boldness and deep compassion. Heal the hurting, comfort the grieving, and protect our churches, campuses, and leaders. Let this season of sorrow become the seedbed for revival. Let a youth-led awakening sweep across the land—turn hearts to You, and let Your truth set us free.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Salvation Prayer
If you have not yet given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do so right now. The Bible promises, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
You can say this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God who died for my sins and rose again. I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I turn from my old ways and place my trust in You as my Savior and Lord. Come into my heart, cleanse me, and make me new. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me to follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life. In Your name I pray, Amen.
