Last weekend, I had the privilege of watching the newly released movie Reagan with my wife, Irene, and our dear friends, Jerry Moses and his wife Carol Moses. This film, produced by my longtime media colleague Mark Joseph, was not only moving but also incredibly well done. As we sat there in the theater, I was deeply touched by the portrayal of Ronald Reagan's life, a sentiment shared by Irene, Jerry, and Carol. I teared up, and Irene cried as well—such was the emotional power of the story. We all left the theater with a profound sense of admiration for the man Reagan was and for the lasting impact he had on our nation. We absolutely loved the movie.
This film is especially timely, given the current political landscape, and it has led me to reflect deeply on the concepts of freedom and liberty, as well as the challenges we face today. Watching Reagan, I couldn't help but draw parallels between Reagan's era and our own, particularly with the leadership of Donald Trump.

The Outsiders Who Became Giants
Both Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump were considered political outsiders before they ascended to the presidency. Reagan, a former Hollywood actor and Governor of California, faced skepticism from the political elite who doubted his ability to lead. Similarly, Trump, a real estate mogul and television personality, was often dismissed by the establishment as unfit for office. Yet, both men defied the odds, winning the hearts of millions of Americans who saw them as champions of the common man.
Reagan is perhaps best remembered for his staunch opposition to communism, leading to the eventual collapse of the Soviet Union. His famous demand, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" symbolized his commitment to freedom and his belief in the superiority of American values. In a parallel struggle, Trump has positioned himself as a leader against globalism and the encroaching influence of communist ideologies, both foreign and domestic. Both leaders faced intense opposition from their critics. Reagan was often portrayed by his opponents as out of touch, while Trump has been characterized as divisive. Yet, both men have remained steadfast in their beliefs, viewing their opposition as proof of their disruptive influence on the status quo. As I reflected on the movie, I also thought about my own journey and mission as an author. Dear Heavenly Father,

As we reflect on the legacies of leaders like Ronald Reagan and the current leadership of President Donald Trump, we are reminded of the pivotal role that godly leadership plays in the direction and destiny of a nation.
Lord, we thank You for the courage and conviction of these leaders, who have stood boldly for the values of freedom, liberty, and justice. We ask that You continue to guide those in positions of power, giving them the wisdom to lead with integrity and the strength to stand against the forces that seek to undermine the foundations of our society.
As we approach a critical time in our nation’s history, we pray for a revival of faith and a return to the principles that have made America a beacon of hope to the world. We ask for Your divine intervention in this "Nineveh moment," that our nation would turn back to You, seeking Your guidance and protection in these uncertain times.
Father, we also lift up those who, like Pastor Paul Begley and myself, are committed to spreading the message of Your Word and the urgency of spiritual preparedness. May our efforts to spark a last-days revival be blessed by Your hand, and may the hearts of the people be opened to receive Your truth.
We pray for the preservation of the freedoms and liberties that so many have fought and died for. May we never take for granted the sacrifices that have been made, and may we be vigilant in defending these rights for future generations.
In Your mercy, Lord, guide America through this time of decision. Let Your will be done, and may Your glory shine brightly through the actions of Your people.
