The Origin and Reign of the Antichrist
At the heart of eschatological discourse lies the notion of the Antichrist as the harbinger of the devil's spiritual dominion over the earth. According to biblical prophecy, the Antichrist will emerge as a pivotal figure within the framework of global governance, symbolized by the ten kings or horns referenced in Daniel 7:24. However, it is crucial to distinguish between the incomplete manifestation of the beast and the completed eighth head, which signifies the Antichrist's ascent to power (Revelation 17:9-11).
Scripture Reference:
Daniel 7:24 speaks of ten kings who will arise, and another will arise after them. This suggests the emergence of the Antichrist within the global political structure.
"As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise, and another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the former ones, and shall put down three kings."
- Daniel 7:24
Revelation 17:9-11 describes the seven heads of the beast, with the eighth being one of the seven. This points to the Antichrist's rise within the established system of governance.
"This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while. As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction.
- Revelation 17:9-11
"God is telling me (Revelation 911) is the sequel to Hal Lindsey’s book The Late Great Planet Earth. It’s the fifty-years-later sequel." - Pastor Paul Begley
Identifying the Antichrist
Misinterpretations abound regarding the identity of the Antichrist, with some erroneously equating him with the rider of the white horse in Revelation 6:2, often mistaken for Jesus. However, a closer examination reveals this rider to be a harbinger of deception and turmoil, heralding the rise of the Antichrist rather than the advent of divine salvation. Unlike Christ, who wears multiple crowns symbolizing His royal authority (Revelation 19:12), the Antichrist's crown represents a counterfeit victory, masking his true intentions.
Scripture Reference:
Revelation 6:2 describes a rider on a white horse, symbolizing conquest. This rider is often mistaken for Jesus but represents the Antichrist, signaling deception and false peace.
"And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer."
- Revelation 6:2
Revelation 19:12 depicts Jesus wearing many crowns, signifying His authority. This distinguishes Him from the Antichrist, who wears a crown representing counterfeit victory.
"His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself."
- Revelation 19:12
2 Thessalonians 2:3 warns of the coming of the "man of lawlessness," identifying the Antichrist as a figure of rebellion and deceit.
"Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction."
- 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (ESV)
2 Thessalonians 2:8 speaks of the Antichrist's ultimate demise by the power of Jesus.
"And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming."
- 2 Thessalonians 2:8 (ESV)
Deception and False Peace
The Antichrist's modus operandi hinges upon deception, cunningly exploiting global crises to establish his dominion. Amidst economic turmoil and geopolitical strife, he will emerge as a charismatic leader, promising unprecedented stability and peace on a global scale. His Machiavellian diplomacy will culminate in a false peace treaty, captivating the masses and even deceiving the Jewish and Arab nations. However, Scripture admonishes us to discern the true nature of his reign and not be swayed by his deceitful facade.
Scripture Reference:
Revelation 19:20 speaks of the capture of the beast and the false prophet, who deceive many with their signs.
"And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur."
- Revelation 19:20:
Revelation 13:16–18 describes the mark of the beast, a symbol of economic control and allegiance to the Antichrist.
Revelation 13:16–18: "Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name."

The Lawless Reign and Abomination
As the Antichrist consolidates his power, he will reveal his true colors, emerging as a ruthless dictator surpassing the atrocities of history's most infamous tyrants. His reign of terror will culminate in the desecration of the temple and the imposition of draconian measures, marking the onset of unparalleled persecution for believers worldwide. However, his reign of terror will be short-lived, ultimately meeting its demise at the hands of divine intervention.
Scripture Reference:
Daniel 12:11 speaks of the abomination that causes desolation, a pivotal event in the Antichrist's reign.
"And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days."
- Daniel 12:11
Matthew 24:15 also references the abomination of desolation, indicating its significance in end-time prophecy.
Matthew 24:15: "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),"
- Matthew 24:15
Revelation 19:20 describes the fate of the beast and the false prophet, who are cast into the lake of fire.
"And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur."
- Revelation 19:20:
Satan's Unholy Trinity
The Antichrist will not operate in isolation but will be accompanied by a false prophet, forming a counterfeit trinity that mimics the divine. Together, they will deceive the masses, compelling them to worship the beast and receive his mark. Yet, their reign of terror will be short-lived, culminating in their ultimate defeat and condemnation to the lake of fire.
Scripture Reference:
Revelation 19:20 describes the fate of the beast and the false prophet, who are cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 19:20: "And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur."

The Global Agenda
Central to the Antichrist's agenda is the establishment of a new world order, encompassing both religious and economic spheres of influence. Through a cunning blend of syncretism and coercion, he will usher in a universal religion, accommodating diverse belief systems under his totalitarian regime. Simultaneously, he will exert total economic control, compelling all to receive his mark to engage in commerce. This prophetic vision, once deemed implausible, finds eerie resonance in the age of technological advancement, laying the groundwork for the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
Scripture Reference:
Revelation 13:16–18 (Revelation 13:16–18 describes the mark of the beast, a symbol of economic control and allegiance to the Antichrist.)
"Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name."
- Revelation 13:16–18
Conclusion: Anticipating the Ultimate Triumph of Righteousness
As we navigate the tumultuous currents of history, let us heed the warnings of scripture and remain vigilant against the machinations of the Antichrist. Though his reign may bring temporary tribulation, we take solace in the promise of divine justice and the ultimate triumph of righteousness. For when the Lord Jesus returns in glory, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that He alone is King of kings and Lord of lords.
Scripture Reference:
Revelation 19:19-20 describes the defeat of the beast and the false prophet by Jesus.
"And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make

Revelation 20:1-4 speaks of the binding of Satan and the reign of Christ.
"Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years."
- Revelation 20:1-4 (ESV)
Zechariah 14:9 prophesies the establishment of the Lord's kingship over the earth.
"And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one."
- Zechariah 14:9 (ESV)
2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 speaks of God's righteous judgment and the punishment of the wicked.
"This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed."
- 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 (ESV)
