Preliminary Findings: July 13, 2024 Assassination Attempt on Former President Donald TrumpExecutive SummaryOn July 13, 2024, former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The attempt resulted in Trump being wounded, one rally attendee dead, and two others critically injured. In response, Senator Ron Johnson immediately demanded a preservation of records and information from the Attorney General, DHS, and FBI, but to date, these agencies have not provided the requested information nor confirmed that they will preserve the relevant records. This lack of transparency from federal entities is unacceptable and raises significant concerns about the security failures at the rally.
